During the process, the products produced may vary, and different measurement methods and data may lead to errors and defects. Measurement system analysis evaluates the testing methods, measuring instruments, and the entire measurement process to ensure the integrity of the data used (usually in quality analysis) and to understand the impact of measurement errors on decisions regarding products or production processes.
